Office visits are by appointment only. Time is set aside each day to see sick children. If your child is acutely ill, he/she will be seen that day, but an appointment will be required. Please call as early in the day as possible as these appointments often fill quickly. Out of consideration for our patients who have made appointments, we do not see walk-in patients.
Consultations for long-standing or complex problems, bedwetting, ADHD, and behavior problems will be scheduled as time permits. When scheduling an appointment, please let the receptionist know the exact nature of your concern so that we may allot the appropriate amount of time.
We have phone nurses available to schedule appointments and answer questions M-F starting at 8:30 AM, appointments are made 9:30 AM to 5 PM. We have evening clinics on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm. We are also available for sick visits only on select weekends. Should you call the office after hours, a recorded message will tell you how to reach the on call physician. The number to reach the physician on call is 1-888-414-4955. Please only use the number for phone calls after office hours for questions that can not wait until the next office day. Please do not use this number for medication refill requests.
Should your child be sick outside of routine office hours, please call us prior to making a visit to your local emergency department or urgent care. Your child may be able to wait to be see in our office depending on the nature of the problem.
In case of a true emergency such as a loss of consciousness, difficulty breathing or seizure, take your child directly to the emergency room or call 911.
Because your time is valuable, it is our goal to have you in and out of our office within an hour. You may help by arriving promptly for you appointment, by having with you all necessary items (shot records, school forms, insurance card and copay), and by having a current phone number on file with us.
If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, please call us at least 24 hours in advance. Missed appointments may prevent some other child from being scheduled and seen. We document missed appointments and may be forced to ask patients who miss too many to obtain medical care elsewhere.
Our office staff has training and experience in dealing with common pediatric problems and will provide routine telephone advice. If it is determined that you need to speak with a physician, your call will be returned either during the lunch hour or after regular office hours. Please leave a number where you can be reached during these times and try to keep the phone line free so that we may return your call.
Please take your child's temperature before you call us if you think your child is ill. Also have available the telephone number of your pharmacy along with pencil and paper for writing down necessary instructions.
